Today was a long one, I took my time at camp this morning and made an extra good breakfast (hot oatmeal, coffee, and about 100 pages of my book lol), got on trail a little late around 950.
I had a 10 mile trail walk to my next road section I tried my best to enjoy it. I saw all kinds of cool stuff, witnessed a massive owl swoop over the trail and land on a tree branch 30 ft or so from where the trail was. Saw a few beetles every now and then.
My favorite part though was Rock Creek bridge, it was really hot today so I was ready to cool off, luckily the bridge had a huge swimming hole right under it. I took a little time and took a swim then back to walking it was.
Feeling refreshed I made it to the trailhead a little later and started walking the road. Had about 7 miles of hwy walking to the small town of Graysville. Along the road walk it started to drizzle but then the best of luck came around and it stopped, making a rainbow pop out and fill the sky. The next portion of trail is in the back skirts of the town. I had no issues with locals I did get those looks of (who the hell is this guy!!).
They had a perfect resupply though, Dollar General is a mile from the next trailhead. I resupplied on coffee, peanut butter and tuna then back to the woods I went.
Got to camp rather late around 830 and about to crash after this post, it’s hard to do anything after hiking, hunger and sleep are all I want, so that’s what I did. With a whopping 19 miles done Good night.
