What a day. The pictures give this area no justice, my camera on my phone is not the best so bare with my photos.
The day started with a peaceful walk down a gravel road for about a mile, then I hit the trailhead and was off, officially on trail I started moving and finding my pace. Hours later I’m about 4 miles in and I am completely mind blown.
Gorge-ous views literally, miles of creek bed crossings, sidewinder switchbacks going straight up out of the gorge, and underpass/rock walls traversing more than half the trail. I just could not believe my eyes at how pretty this section is. Some of this trail is old and hasn’t seen much impact reminds of old growth forests.
Making it 10 miles I am stealth camped on the side of a mountain road 2 miles from my next trailhead, I just couldn’t make it haha, with a thunderstorm on my tail I decided to stop walking a road and hunker down, I’m glad I chose that route it was pouring 10 minutes later after I set up camp.
With a new book started I plan to read myself to sleep and get a early day started tomorrow, till then.
